Year 10 - Chemistry

Year 10 Chemistry students have officially traded their textbooks for safety glasses as they dive into the hands-on phase of their Portfolio Assessment Task. This term, the lab is buzzing with scientific inquiry as students conduct their own experiments. Beyond just mixing chemicals, these budding scientists are focusing on the rigor of the scientific method by meticulously managing variables, conducting thorough risk assessments, and transforming raw data into professional analysis, with the final submission deadline approaching on Monday of Week 7.

Do It For Dolly Day 2026

On Friday May 8, students in 7-10 'turned blue' for the day, to advocate and raise awareness for "Dolly's Dream" - an organisation dedicated to changing the culture of bullying in Australia. With a focus on kindness and inclusion, students came dressed in blue and focused on spreading kindness to others, sparking a conversation around creating safe spaces for our young people in schools and the community.

Term 2 Award Focus

During assembly in Week 3, we continued our Term 2 award focus - 'Healthy Habits'. Students were recognised for their efforts in creating healthy digital habits - focusing on human connection over digital scrolling, attempting the 'one hour buffer' of no digital devices for one hour after waking in the morning and one hour before bed at night, and being engaged and ready for learning because they have prioritised sleep over digital time.

Over the next two weeks, students are being asked to focus on healthy social habits - the 'front row' mentality. The 'front row' are the people who cheer loudest for you, encourage you, and also hold you accountable when you have messed up. Everyone needs a 'front row', but students are also being encourage to think - "Am I a front row friend?"

In Week 5, we will be awarding the culture builders, the 'front row' friends who are supportive, demonstrate active encouragement and build the habit of teamwork and belonging.
