Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,
40th Birthday School Picture
Let's start this newsletter with a big thank you to Blair Collins and his son, Ethan, for their time and for providing their drone. The Collins have provided photos and videos from our whole school 40 montage. We chose 40 to celebrate the school's 40th anniversary. We have photos from 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016. 2026 will now be added to the gallery. Will we see you here for the 50th? Enjoy the pictures.
Breakfast Club - Friday
Today, we launched the Friday breakfast club. One of our lovely ES members, Mrs. Mole, will be supporting Friday mornings, along with our grade 56 students. The first group today had big smiles on their faces as they served the community. It always feels great to do things for others. I hope all grade 56 students are able to take a turn helping.
Walk to School
On Friday, 22nd May, Mr Smith OG organised a Walk to School Day. There were three meeting points for children to jump on and join a walking train. Lots of staff volunteered to join the walk, with staff here handing out tokens for a recess treat. Thank you to all involved. Looking ahead, we will organise a weekly ‘walk to school day’. This will help reduce traffic, improve fitness, and help children score house points.
National Sorry Day
Tuesday, 26th May was National Sorry Day. Mackenzie and Chase led a school gathering to share information with students about why the day is significant to them as children who identify as indigenous. Supporting them on the day we had Lucas, Levi, Liam, Olivia, Mackenzie, and Oscar. Well done to those students for being brave.
Portfolios
Today, student portfolios will return home for term 2. Grades will be visible on Compass under Learning Tasks. It is a time to celebrate the great work students have completed in Reading, Writing, and Maths over the last few weeks. The grades are only a snapshot of their abilities for this piece of work. A more comprehensive report is due at the end of the semester.
I would like to thank 34C for their assembly, the students and staff who attended the AFL Girls Day and Division Cross Country. Thank you also to Mrs. Margetts, Ms. Wright, and Mrs. Donnelly for supporting the simultaneous story time.
Have a great week!
Thanks,
Craig
