Structured Workplace Learning
Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) is a planned and compulsory part of the VCE Vocational Major for our Year 11 and 12 students. It involves students participating in the industry relevant to their career and further study ambitions. SWL allows them to practice and develop skills in a professional environment. For some of our students, this is their first time in a workplace, and it creates the opportunity to gain abilities that are transferrable to any work environment. Our students can learn more about employment and training opportunities in their industries, build long-term connections with employers and expand their job prospects.

The VCE Vocational Major is a pathway available to our senior school students that can lead to employment straight after Year 12 thanks to the integration of practical experience and academic learning. Some of the students pictured are completing an SWL in the industry aligned with an external VCE VET program, or their school-based apprenticeship (SBAT).
For more information about how to gain entry into the VCE Vocational Major in your senior school years, Structured Workplace Learning and School-based Apprenticeships, visit our College Careers website at - www.craigieburnsccareers.com or book an appointment with our Pathways team.
