2024 Finale December
As 2024 concludes and students move forward into Senior School, we have created ongoing partnerships between students, staff and families that will continue into 2025. Thanks to their unwavering efforts, our team has ensured an exceptional Year 10 student experience. These experiences have included the final Elevate Study Skills, collaboration with Darren Perrera on Success Integrated and awards celebrations.
We are proud to say that the student experience was capped at the end of the year with both work experience and awards celebrations. After two years of work in the Middle School, with the wise guidance of Mr. McGavisk, we will continue our journey of student engagement both in and out of the college. But once again most importantly, we cherish and celebrate each day as leaders through actions of kindness, care and compassion so that our cohort will continue as exemplars of leadership among our students. On behalf of the Year 10 team, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
Mr. Justin Wu,

Summer Uniform Reminder
As the weather becomes warmer, a courtesy reminder that summer uniforms will gradually need to be worn. During this term and leading into Term 1 2025, we expect the summer uniform will start to be worn. There is the expectation that P.E. uniforms will be worn only on designated sport days. Students are also expected to bring in their Ready to Learn Materials to form and classes throughout the day. Our form and classroom teachers will continue to support your child by conducting regular checks in form to ensure your child has the necessary support in bringing their equipment to class.
STUDY SKILLS PROGRAM
Following on from our success in the year-long Study Skills program, we will continue this work and support your child’s learning with new themes from Elevate Education in 2025.
Here are key essential tips and skills for parents and families to engage with their child at home during the summer holidays:
- Understanding Personal Study Habits: identify individual study preferences and determine the most effective study methods.
- Homework Completion: encourage students to dedicate a minimum of 30 minutes per subject daily to homework tasks.
- Work-Life Balance: how to balance any part-time job responsibilities with schoolwork and other commitments (e.g. sports training).
- Practising Subject Skills: by regularly practising core and elective subjects, students will build mastery of content and skills needed for successful outcomes. Students will also understand how practise leads to finesse in learning.
- Managing Stress: Whilst we all encounter stress in our lifetime, it is just as important to have plenty of rest, eat well and prioritize what areas need to be reviewed on the day of study.
- Short and Long Term Goals: Whilst goal setting is important, prioritizing goals is also vital to ensure that immediate and future needs are met in quick and real time. Short term goals could include completion of more homework daily or routinely bringing equipment to class, whilst long term goals would be improving attendance and achieving a GPA above 3.5. This is now the opportunity to look at what goals need to be achieved in Year 11 to ensure success.
STUDENT OF THE WEEK
As of Week 9, I mention with great pride that every form group has multiple students who have received a Student of the Week Award on a weekly basis. Altogether, we have had 200 students with a total of 589 nominations. This ultimately works out to 2-3 nominations a week for each of these students.
