TheirCare News
Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 5 of Term 4.
We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
Can you believe it? We are in Week 5 already! Hope you all had a well spent long weekend. Our theme for this week is 'Melbourne Cup'. We had our Pupil Free Day on Monday and it was a whole day of fun where we played a variety of games in the gym such as Everyone’s It, dodgeball, block soccer, and skittles. The gaga pit was filled with kids having fun and playing gaga ball, while some children chose to play in the playground and showcase their skills on the monkey bars. Not only did we play outdoors, but children who chose to stay in the TheirCare room engaged in arts and crafts activities - they made things such as cool horse masks, had drawing competitions, made bracelets, and ironing beads. Children who were engaged with the construction blocks showed great creativity and imagination skills in building a massive building. Tuesday was a public holiday and the weather was lovely - we hope you all had an amazing day! On Wednesday morning, we had pancakes for breakfast, played UNO and had a small chat about the exciting things that we did over the weekend.
Pupil of the Week
This week’s Pupil of the Week is Thomas Doherty of PLB, for his kindness, helping during pack up, and for always wearing his brightest smile when attending TheirCare. Well done, Thomas!! You should be very proud of yourself.
TC Tucker
This week will be the last week of the TC Tucker program. However, due to popularity the TC Tucker program will continue. Each week there will be changes to our afternoon tea weekly menu. This week we had nachos on Monday, and we will be having pizza on Thursday. The children have requested that next week we have wraps on Monday, pizza on Tuesday and nachos on Thursday. We are encouraging families to join us in this program by submitting a recipe that we can have for afternoon tea.
