Boarding Bulletin

Mrs Kathryn Searle, Head of Boarding

Welcome to Term 3!

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students

We cannot wait to welcome back all boarders on Monday and hear about their time with family and travels over the break. We will open the Boarding House from 6:30am with all students expected to be in-house by 4:00pm.

Our New Boarding Team Members

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Laura Turner and Maddy Johnston to the Clayfield College Boarding Team.

Laura has been relieving in the role of Boarding and International Student Officer while Christine Quist has been on long service leave. From Term 3, Laura has officially accepted the position of Head of Years 5 to 8 Boarding Supervisor.

Laura brings a wealth of experience from her previous student-focused roles at St Paul’s School and Brisbane Boys’ College. We are delighted to have her join the team in this capacity. Welcome, Laura!

We also warmly welcome Maddy Johnston, who joins us as Weekend Boarding Assistant, replacing Judy Jiang. Maddy will work alongside the weekend morning staff on Saturdays and Sundays. Welcome, Maddy!

Clayfield on Tour

During the holiday break, I travelled to Central Queensland with our Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement, Emma Dixon, to visit families in the region. Thank you to the families who joined us for local events, it is always a joy to see our boarders in their hometowns and connect with the communities that shape them.

Uniform Policy

As per the College’s Uniform Policy, please ensure your child returns to boarding ‘school ready’. This includes no fake tan, acrylic nails, or false eyelashes. Hair should be one natural colour, and students may have only one piercing in each earlobe.

Medication

Please be reminded, as per our Medication Policy in the Boarding House, if we provide medication for your child, it will be kept safely in our First Aid Room and administered accordingly. Students are not to hold medications in their rooms; this includes Panadol and Nurofen. If your child is returning from holidays with new medication, please complete the Medication Permission form.

Term 3 Driving

If your child requires transportation outside of school hours in Term 3, please complete the Boarder Transport Application Form as soon as possible. Priority driving details are outlined on this form.

Please understand that our driving schedule has significantly increased this year. With QGSSSA Winter Fixtures training and games taking place on Saturdays during Term 3, we may not be able to accommodate all transport requests. We appreciate your understanding and support.

We look forward to welcoming everyone on Monday for Term 3!

Yours sincerely
