Game, Set, Match! St Patrick's Tennis Program Concludes

All classes at St Patrick's Primary wrapped up their exciting tennis program yesterday, marking the end of three weeks of fantastic skill development and fun on the court!

The students have shown great enthusiasm, improving their coordination, technique, and teamwork throughout the sessions. It has been wonderful to witness their confidence grow as they mastered new serves, volleys, and rallies.

A huge thank you must go out to Mrs Emma Wauch, who has skillfully led the entire program over the last three weeks. Mrs Wauch's expertise, energy, and positive encouragement ensured that every student—from our youngest learners to our senior classes—was engaged and able to successfully develop their tennis abilities.

We appreciate the dedication and effort Mrs Wauch put into making this year's tennis program such a successful and memorable experience for everyone at St Patrick's!

ACS Summer Trials Wrap Up

Last Friday, eight students proudly represented St Patrick’s at the Diocesan Summer Trials in Tamworth, competing in both tennis and basketball. Josie, Airlee, Lucy, Shaun, and Rebee (Tennis) and Marcus, Maddie, and Phoebe (Basketball) showcased exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the highly competitive event.

Our basketballers excelled, with Maddie and Phoebe displaying great talent and teamwork to reach the highly competitive Probables vs. Possibles stage of the Girls Basketball Trials. This is a massive accomplishment, particularly considering it was the first time both girls had competed at this representative trial level.

However, a huge congratulations goes to Shaun, who performed brilliantly in the Boys' Tennis Trials, winning the whole tournament while Rebee came third overall. As a result of their outstanding success, both boys will now represent the Armidale Catholic Schools at the Polding Summer Trials, held in Tamworth on Friday, February 13th, 2026. We wish her the very best of luck!

St Patrick’s also celebrated the impressive efforts of our girl’s tennis stars: Josie performed exceptionally well in the qualifying rounds, placing third respectively, and as a result, have also gained selection to the Armidale Catholic Schools Girls Tennis Team that will compete at the Polding Summer Trials! Well done, Josie!

Well done to all participants for their tremendous efforts. Finally, a thank you to Emma Wauch (Tennis) and Amanda Scott (Basketball) for their invaluable preparation and assistance, and to all the dedicated parents who supported the students' participation on the day.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook

St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook and it has been updated after the school swimming carnival held recently. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports.
