What is happening this fortnight in the Library!

Adam Wallace’s ‘Hatman’ Book Launch

What another wonderful session our Year 3’s to 6’s experienced with Adam’s return and discussions around the writing of ‘Hatman’. If you’ve listened to the songs, I hope that you’ve managed to keep the earwig out of your ears…. I find myself humming away at all times of the day and night… they are certainly very catchy!

It was lovely to see our students wearing so many different hats on the day - Adam was truly blown away by the love and support shown. I’m sure we will welcome him back at any time!

If your child would still like to purchase a book Adam is leaving the online special school offer open until the end of November. Orders can be placed via www.hatman.com.au/novlaunch, and books will be delivered directly to the school early in December. With each order placed, Adam will include also one of his other books absolutely FREE!

📚 Our School Book Fair is Coming! – Next Week: 1st to 5th December

We’re excited to announce that our annual School Book Fair will be running from Monday 1st December through to Friday 5th December! This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families to discover new reads, stock up on holiday books, and support our school library.

This year’s fair is proudly provided by Lamont Books, an independent bookseller known for their excellent range of high-quality titles. Families will find a great mix of new releases, much-loved favourites, and popular books also seen in major department stores.

📖 Student Browsing & Wish Lists

During the week, every student will visit the Book Fair with their class during their usual library specialist session. While browsing, students will have the chance to complete a ‘Wish List’ of items they may be interested in purchasing. These lists will be sent home so families can review them together.

As always, we remind students that these are Wish Lists—not Get Lists! They are simply a way to share items they liked, with no expectation that anything must be purchased.

📅 Book Fair Opening Hours

To give everyone a chance to browse and shop, the Book Fair will be open at the following times:

  • Morning sessions: 8:30am – 9:00am
  • Afternoon sessions: 3:30pm – 4:00pm
  • Special evening session (School Concert Night): 5:00pm – 6:30pm on Wednesday 3rd December

Whether you’re shopping for Christmas gifts, encouraging a new reader, or adding to the family bookshelf, there’s something for every age and interest.

We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating the joy of reading together!

📚 Overdue Books – A Friendly Reminder

Overdue book notices were issued earlier this week for any titles that were due back by 11th November. If your child brings a notice home and you’re unable to locate the book(s), please jot a note on the slip and return it to school. This helps us follow up and check whether the items may still be here at school.

We understand that books can occasionally go missing - it's all part of growing up and learning responsibility. All we ask is that the notices are returned, and that if the books do eventually resurface (they often turn up in the most surprising places!), they are returned to the library.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep our library collection in great shape for all students.
