Mobile Phones

A reminder to students and parents/guardians that Mount Beauty Secondary College follows the Department of Education's mobile phone policy. We ask for student cooperation in adhering to this policy to maintain a safe (free from being recorded or photographed) and effective learning environment.

Students may bring a mobile phone to school; however, it must be securely stored during school hours (warning music at 8:55 am – school bell at 3:20 pm).

Parents/guardians are requested to support the school in not responding to communication from students during school hours and setting this boundary. If required students can attend the front office to make a communication or parents/guardians can contact the office to have a message passed on. This is important for ensuring we continue to improve school to family communication.

Students who do not meet the expectations of this policy will receive support, and appropriate consequences will be enforced and communicated to their family. For families wanting to report breaches of the policy observed through social media or reports from students please contact Mitch Harris via the office or email me directly - mitchell.harris@education.vic.gov.au

Lunch Passes

Students are expected to remain at school throughout the day. Below is the process for obtaining a lunch pass, reinforcing our partnership with parents and supporting our on-campus Café.

Short-Term Lunch Passes

  • Written consent in the form of email or note (Compass permission is not accepted) is required for students to leave the school grounds for lunch.
  • Students must return promptly to school after purchasing lunch to reconnect with peers and be supervised by staff.
  • Short-term lunch passes are valid for that day only.

Long-Term Lunch Passes

  • Year 12 students may apply for a long-term lunch pass as a privilege, requiring a completed form.
  • Parents wishing to arrange a long-term pass should meet with the Student Engagement Leader to discuss its suitability and encourage students to enjoy the benefits of staying on campus.
