Voices That Lead: Celebrating Student Initiative and Leadership

At Sandringham College, we take pride in the active role our students play in shaping school life, demonstrating leadership, and sharing their voices.

Earlier this term, our Student Leadership Team ran a successful Gratitude Postcards initiative, giving students the opportunity to write personalised messages of appreciation to their teachers. The postcards featured beautiful artwork by Year 7 student Catherine Wang. The heartfelt messages collected will be presented to teachers before the end of the year—a wonderful way to recognise their dedication and hard work.

Our students have also been preparing presentations for new teaching staff joining Sandringham College in 2026. These presentations highlight life at our school, what students value most about their learning community, and share stories of their favourite teachers. This initiative allows our students to actively shape the experience of new staff and ensures their voices are central to welcoming newcomers.

We are also thrilled to announce our School Captains for 2026. After a thorough selection process, which included written applications, interviews, and speeches, our college community cast their votes. We congratulate:

  • School Captains: Ruby Lesirge-Phillips and Tye Harper
  • Vice Captains: Pippa Asome and Kumail Hassan

We are incredibly proud of all students who applied. The professionalism, passion, and commitment shown by every applicant reflects the strength and character of our student community. We look forward to seeing our new leaders make a meaningful impact in the year ahead.
