Principal's Message

Hello everyone!
We have had some wonderful experiences in our school over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, our school had a focus on Bullying no way! Our senior students were helpful in organising and facilitating activities which focused on the importance of kindness.
Last week our school celebrated book week which was a great opportunity to focus on literature and the importance of a love for reading in developing learning. The parade was also a good opportunity to dress as your favourite character. Some of our students paraded through Myola and brought so much joy to the residents.
As of next Monday all students will need to wear their hats during outside activities while at school. This is consistent with our sunsmart policy which states that when the UV rays get to 3 or above our students will wear suns protection. Please ensure that your child has a hat for next Monday.
At present we are collecting data relating to engagement and wellbeing of students staff. We are also collecting feedback from families regarding their engagement and experience with our school. You should receive a survey link within the next day or so and I strongly encourage you to take the time to complete the survey. It really does provide us with important information enabling us to plan well for the future success of the school. We spend considerable time analysing the data from these surveys and value the feedback that we get from the data.
We are looking forward to the 125 year celebration and time capsule opening coming up on October 17 and are working through some preparations for this event. We warmly welcome all our current families as well as past students, staff and families to this event. The promo is later in the newsletter and I ask that you share this with anyone who may have been a student with us in and around the year 2000. We would love to see them at this special event. The afternoon/ evening will be for our current students and families to enjoy the colour run and BBQ dinner. This will be a great way for our families to celebrate 125 years of Catholic Education also!
We are looking forward to our Bloke’s breakfast coming up September 5th and the following is a prayer of thanks for the special men in our lives:
Lord,
We thank you for the fathers and special men in our lives. We ask you to bless them with strength, patience, and love. May they be examples of kindness and guidance, always present and supportive. Help them to lead with wisdom and to inspire those around them. We pray for their well-being, their happiness, and for all the good they do.
May they feel our gratitude and love today, on Father’s Day and always.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen
Blessings
Carolyn
Reminder regarding student absence
At Sacred Heart we expect and encourage 100% student attendance. We understand that there are some circumstances where your child needs to stay at home. Please be reminded that it is the parents' responsibility to notify school of any absence. The best way to do this is through PAM or by ringing the school at 8.30am. Unnotified absence requires follow up from the school as it is essential that we know where our students are each school day. If you receive a text, please follow this up by calling the school to let us know the reason absence. If no follow up is received then the school needs to make phone calls to parents which takes considerable time. We appreciate your support in this matter.
FEE CONCESSION FOR HCC HOLDERS
Families with a Health Care Card and would like to receive the CESL Fee Concession are reminded they need to commit to paying $520/student throughout the year - preferably by school organised Direct Debit or by arrangement. Please see Debbie in the office if you have any questions regarding this.
