Term Four Event Details
Prep Living Safely with Pets Program - Friday 11th October
Our Prep children will have a special incursion focused on living safely with pets, specifically dogs. This is an important aspect of learning behaviours around animals and needs to be done early on in an educational journey.
Whole School Science Immersion Day - Monday 14th October
Our students will be undertaking a unit of work focused on biological and earth/space sciences this term. As part of this, the children will participate in a series of ‘immersion’ activities on Monday 14th October.
P&F Meeting - Tuesday 15th October
The first P&F Meeting for the term is on Tuesday 15th October at 7.30pm in the staffroom at school. All are welcome and we kindly ask that our Class Reps make a special effort to attend.
PSG Meetings - Monday 14th - Friday 18th October
Invitations to Program Support Group meetings have been sent to the affected families for meetings next week. Please contact Amanda Baker should you have any queries.
2025 Prep Orientation - 16th & 30th October and 13th November
This year, we have three orientation sessions for our 2025 Prep classes. The sessions will run from 9am-11am in the Prep classroom. Further information has been communicated directly to the 2025 Prep families.
Walkathon - Friday 18th October
Our annual school Walkathon will be held at Peterson Street Reserve on Friday 18th October. The children will walk down to the oval for a 9.30am start and they will exercise for around an hour. This is one of the school’s major fundraising events for the year. Parents and family members are encouraged to participate and help with lap marking.
Prep to Year 4 Swimming Program - Monday 21st October - Friday 1st November
All students from Prep to Year 4 will participate in a swimming skills program at Toby Haenen Swim Centre from Monday 21st October - Friday 1st November. These sessions will happen every day in these weeks, with the exception of Wednesdays. Further information will be communicated via Operoo and Class Newsletters.
Prep Mass - Friday 25th October
The Prep children will participate in Parish Mass on Friday 25th October at 9am. All parents and families are welcome to join this mass. It is a nice opportunity for all of our Prep students to celebrate mass together after a wonderful start of primary school together.
Kinder Visits
Our Year 4 students will again visit Kindergartens in Term Four. They will head to Grange Road Kinder on Monday 28th October and Livingston Kinder on Friday 1st November. These important community connections assist transitions for kinder children and support the continued growth of our school.
Inform and Empower Online Safety - Week commencing Monday 28th October
Our children from Year 1-6 will continue their online safety sessions with Inform and Empower in the week commencing Monday 28th October. These classroom sessions assist the children in developing their skills to remain safe online.
School Advisory Council Meeting - Tuesday 29th October
The first SAC Meeting willl be held at 6pm on Tuesday 29th October. This meeting will be the commencement of the next phase of Masterplanning for Capital Improvements at our school.
Melbourne Cup Long Weekend - Monday 4th November
Our school will be closed on Monday 4th November for the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend. We hope all families are able to utilise this family time in readiness for a busy finish to the year.
Year 4 Camp - Wednesday 6th - Friday 8th November
Our Year 4 students will head to Summit Camp in Trafalgar East for a two night camp on Wednesday 6th November. Summit is an award winning school camp loction, with many fun outdoor activities that promote teamwork.
Year 5/6 Mass - Friday 8th November
The Year 5/6 children will participate in Parish Mass on Friday 8th November at 9am. All parents and families are welcome to join this mass.
Trash & Treasure Market - Sunday 10th November
Our school will again hold a Trash & Treasure Market on Sunday 10th November from 9am-12pm. This initiative from the Parents and Friends Committee was well received and supported last year. This is a community event and will be connected with the Bayside Garage Sale Trail event. School Families are welcome to purchase their own stall or donate unwanted goods to the school stall. The P&F are seeking a volunteer to coordinate the school’s Trash and Treasure stall and another to coordinate the Sausage Sizzle. Details on how to book a stall or help out on the day are available on the Trash & Treasure Market Page.
Graduation Meeting - Thursday 14th November
The final Graduation Meeting for the year will be held on Thursday 14th November from 8am-8.30 in the meeting room at school. All Year 6 families are invited to attend and help out.
Year 3 Camp - Zoo Snooze - Monday 18th - Tuesday 19th November
Our Year 3 children will stay overnight at Melbourne Zoo on the above dates. The bus will depart around 4.30pm from school on the Monday, returning around 2pm on the Tuesday. It is a great camp that includes a night tour of the zoo. More information to follow via Operoo.
2025 Prep Information Night - Tuesday 19th November
Our 2025 Prep parents are encouraged to come along to our Prep Information Night to connect with new families and prepare for school commencement. The session will start at 7.30pm and will be held in the Prep classroom.
Book Fair - Commencing Monday 25th November
Our Annual Book Fair will take place from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th November and will be held in the hall. The children will visit the Book Fair during their Library sessions that week and the fair will be open for sales before and after school that week.
Visual Arts Show - Wednesday 27th November
Our biennial Art Show will be held at school on Wednesday 27th November from 6pm-8pm. All students will have at least 3 pieces displayed in the showcase and the will be musical performances also. This is a whole school event and one where all children are expected to attend please. More information to follow.
Grandparents Day - Thursday 28th November
All St Agnes’ Grandparents and special friends are invited to our Grandparents Day on Thursday 28th November from 9am-10.30am. There will be a liturgy in the church led by the children, followed by morning tea and a tour of our Art Show.
2025 Staff Planning Day - Monday 2nd December
Our school will be closed for 2025 Staff Planning on Monday 2nd December. Thank you to all families for your understanding as we complete this important preparatory work.
St Agnes’ School Swimming Carnival - Tuesday 3rd December
St Agnes’ Swimming Sports Carnival will be held on Tuesday 3rd December at BlueFit Swimming School, Tulip Street Sandringham (9.15am-12.00pm). Further details will be communicated closer to the day.
School Advisory Council Annual General Meeting - Tuesday 3rd December
The SAC AGM will be held at school on Tuesday 3rd December from 7pm. New members will be elected to this council at this meeting and all are parents/carers are welcome.
Parents and Friends Committee Annual General Meeting - Wednesday 4th December
The P&F AGM will be held on Wednesday 4th December at 7pm at the school. All are welcome. More information to follow.
Year 5/6 Open Water Program - Thursday 5th - Friday 6th December
Our senior students head off to Mordialloc Surf Life Saving Club for an open-water swimming program. More information to follow.
Year 6 Final Assembly - Wednesday 11th December
The Year 6 Final Assembly will be held at the usual time on Wednesday 11th December. This will be a light-hearted, special assembly focused on sharing of memories of times at St Agnes’.
St Agnes’ Christmas Carols evening - Wednesday 11th December
All families are invited to attend our Christmas Carols evening from 6.30pm on Wednesday 11th December. It is a picnic style event and all family members are welcome.
Year Six Luna Park Excursion - Thursday 12th December
Our Year Six students and staff will head to Luna Park for their day of celebration on Thursday 12th December. More information to follow.
2024 Orientation Day - Friday 13th December
Students from Year 1 to Year 5 will spend the morning with their 2025 classroom teacher. This is an opportunity to form vital teacher/students relationships.
End of Semester Reports - Friday 13th December
Semester Two Reports will be made available online through nForma Parent Portal and a hardcopy will also be sent home on this day.
Year 6 Final Day - Monday 16th December
The Year Six students will finish for the year at 3.25pm. Parents will be invited into the classrooms for the last hour of the day, before the children are dismissed for the final time.
End of Year/Graduation Liturgy - Monday 16th December at 6pm.
We gather as a whole school to mark the end of the 2024 school year and celebrate our Graduating Class of 2024 at a Liturgy held in the church. All students from Prep to Year 6 are expected to attend and wear their full summer school uniform. Graduation celebrations for the Year 6 students and their parents will follow in the hall.
Final day for Prep to Year 5 - Tuesday 17th December
The school year concludes for Prep to Year 5 at 1.30pm.
