The Exaltation of the Holy Cross

This Sunday is the feast of the Holy Cross. The cross is the symbol for the way Jesus defeated sin, hatred and death. Christians are signed with the cross when they are baptised and when they are buried. The Sign of the Cross shows our willingness to follow Jesus and our joy at being part of his family.

Let us pray

On this feast of the Holy Cross, 

let us look at the cross in this space and think for a moment about how much Jesus loves us.

Lord, we see in this cross a sign of your great love. May the cross be our comfort in trouble, our shelter in the face of danger, our safeguard on life's journey. 

We ask this through Christ our Lord. 

Amen.
