Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 4! We have started the term with sunshine and smiles as everyone returned happy and rested from holidays. We have already hit the ground running with a number of exciting activities keeping us busy.

On Saturday, our school community came together with parishioners from Christ the King Catholic Parish to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with six of our beautiful students. Olive, Matilda, Indie, Miles, Ella & Shailla, along with their families, staff and parishioners voiced their commitment to the Catholic Church in this moving ceremony.

Foundation Interviews

We have moved onto our Interview stage for our 2026 Foundation students. Our new students have been proudly coming into the office, learning as they go. If you have not yet booked your interview, please make sure you do. An email has been sent home to all 2026 families.

District Athletics

On Friday, Charlotte was lucky enough to be supported by her Mum, Tam, to head off to the District Athletics. This was an exciting opportunity that Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed, representing our school at this level. In order to head through to the District Athletics, Charlotte had to meet the minimum standards in order to compete. As Charlotte also attends Little Aths, this helped her succeed in this area.

Colouring In Competition

Congratulations to Evelyn & Charlotte who took our respectively 1st and 2nd Prize of the Colouring In Competition at the Wangaratta Show over the weekend. If anyone did visit the show, you would have seen the amazing display of Artwork that Mrs. Bennett put up on display. This wonderful work is an amazing showcase of all the fun our students have in art.

New Students

Today we welcomed two new students to our school - Jack & Maize. Jack is in Foundation & Maize is in Grade 1. These new additions have caused great excitement in our school yard! Please make sure you spread the word about our beautiful school with your friends and family members. We have enrolment spaces throughout the school for 2026.

Advisory School Council - PLEASE HELP

Our Lady's is seeking to re-establish our Advisory School Council. The Advisory Council serves as a consultative and advisory group for the Principal in order to inform and gain feedback from the broader school community. Members of the Advisory Council;

  • actively support, in collaboration with the local parish, the Vison and Catholic Identity of our school
  • provide parental and local community input into strategic planning, school improvement, child safeguarding practices and school review
  • support the Principal in meeting their accountabilities for educational outcomes, effective stewardship of resources and annual reporting
  • actively support the Principal in the encouragement of parent/carer engagement
  • provide a means by which the CESL Executive (and thereby the CESL Board) can dialogue with and hear from school community members

Nominations are currently being invited from the community. Nominations (which can be self-nominations) should be in writing and delivered to myself directly. This can be done via email.

So far, I have had one amazing nomination and we are keen to get started. If you have some time on your hands (one meeting a month I promise) then come and see me.

Blessings,

Cassie
