The Lion King Jr Auditions & Open Call

Come one, come all and sign up to get involved in the Years 7-9 St Patrick’s College production of The Lion King Jr!

Based on the 1994 Disney animated feature film of the same name and William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, The Lion King is the story of Simba, an adventurous and energetic lion cub who is next in line to be king of the Pride Lands, a thriving and beautiful region in the African savanna.

Featuring classic songs from the film such as “Circle of Life,” “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Hakuna Matata,” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” The Lion King is a story and a spectacle about identity, family, and responsibility that is enjoyed worldwide by people of all ages.

Auditions will be held in Week 8 across three lunch time and one after school session:

  • Tuesday 4 June, lunch time
  • Wednesday 5 June, lunch time
  • Thursday 6 June, lunch time
  • Thursday 6 June, After School – External Students Welcome

Auditionees need to prepare 30 seconds–1 minute of a song of their choice that showcases their vocal range. They also need to perform one of the audition scenes (links available on the poster – contact Ms Allen if you’re having trouble accessing).
