Genesis Concert

‘On Wednesday 23rd May Craigieburn Secondary College played host to a variety of local schools to share the musical talents of our students’ with the wider community. We welcomed staff and students from Hume Central Secondary College, Penola Catholic College, Overnewton Anglican Community College and Aitken College to our Ironbark Centre to participate in the rock concert ‘Genesis’. We were overwhelmed by the talents of not only our Craigieburn students, but also the performances from all of our participating schools, with each performance topping the last. The evening ended with a special ‘All Stars’ number, where students from each school came together to bring the house down with their rendition of What I Like About You by The Romantics.

A special thank you to all of the staff, students and families who came along on Wednesday night, and an even bigger thank you to Ms Edwards, Mr Sherlock, Mr Bakker and Ms Morphy, who supported the organisation of this concert from the very beginning. We look forward to seeing you all at ‘Battle of the Bands’ held at Penola Catholic College in Term 3.

I want to express my thanks for what was a great night put on by CSC. I enjoyed every act, and the chance for our kids to perform with other schools was a refreshing change. Great venue, good night out, and brilliant to see the kids playing together. Really hope we get an invite again next year.
