From the Principal Team

The past five weeks have been exceptionally busy, but they have also been incredibly rewarding. We are pleased to witness the overall sense of pride and calm that our students have brought back to the school community. Their dedication to embracing our College expectations has been wonderful and we are confident that they will continue to thrive as we progress through the term. As we reach the midpoint of Term 3, we would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to our school community for the incredible support you've shown in voting for our new school values - Respect, Growth, Belonging, and Understanding. These values are the bedrock of our school's ethos, and together, we will work with our student and community to develop a clear understanding of what they truly mean and how they can be exemplified across our entire community.

Our value of Belonging underpins that at our school, we value the richness and importance of our diverse community. Our strength lies in the unique tapestry of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences that our students and their families bring to our school. Embracing diversity is at the core of our values and is the very essence of who we are as a secular school. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that supports all members of our community to ‘Belong’ embracing all races, cultures, religions, genders and sexual orientations. Our school is a safe space where every student feels valued, respected, and supported for who they are. In every classroom, our students are exposed to a multitude of perspectives, beliefs, and traditions. By learning side by side with peers from different backgrounds, our students gain invaluable insights and develop empathy, compassion, and respect for others. This diversity enriches their educational journey and prepares them for the global world they will eventually step into.

It is wonderful to recognise the exceptional efforts of our Pathways team in organizing

Discovery Day which was held on Tuesday 25th July. This event provided a valuable opportunity for our students from Year 8 to Year 10 to engage in meaningful conversations about subject selection and explore their future aspirations. The feedback we received from students, families, guardians and staff about the pathway interviews for subject selections in Year 10 was overwhelmingly positive. We are committed to guiding our students towards their academic and career goals, and this event was a crucial step in that direction.

On Monday August 7th, our Year 12 students celebrated the term midpoint in a unique and fun way by having a ‘cosy day’ in their pyjamas. It was heartening to see so many students and staff members enthusiastically participate, making it a truly memorable day on the Year 12 calendar. These moments of camaraderie and joy contribute to the vibrant spirit of our school.

Award Ceremonies were held for Year 7-9 on Thursday, August 10th, and for Year 10-12 on Friday, August 11th. These events allow us to come together and celebrate the academic achievements and personal growth of our students. Your continuous support in nurturing a positive learning environment is instrumental in helping them reach their full potential, and we can't wait to applaud their successes.

Additionally, please mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 23rd, as it will be a Curriculum Day. On this day, our dedicated staff will engage in professional development activities to enhance their teaching practices further. We firmly believe that investing in the continuous growth and improvement of our educators directly translates to a better learning experience for our students.

Finally, we extend our thanks to our amazing school community for your support. Your commitment to fostering a connected and nurturing environment for our students is what makes our school truly special. Together, we create an environment where our students can flourish, discover their passions, and become the best versions of themselves.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our school office or the year-level Assistant Principals. We value open communication and look forward to working together to ensure the success and happiness of our students. Thank you again for being an integral part of our school community. Your involvement makes a significant difference, and we are excited about the journey ahead as we continue to work hand in hand to support our students in reaching their full potential.
