Principal's Report
Term 3, Week 1
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope all of our families had the chance to get some rest and family time over the holidays. It was wonderful to welcome everyone back onsite today for the start of Term 3! We have another busy term ahead at St FX.
GRANDPARENTS DAY
One of the highlights of Term 3 is our annual Grandparents Day. This will be held on Friday 28 July, beginning with Mass in the church at 10.00am. Mass will be followed by a shared morning tea on the school grounds. A special assembly will commence at 12.00pm under the COLA.
At this assembly, there will be special performances by our school band as well as Stage 1 and Stage 2 performing their 2023 Eisteddfod items. Kindergarten and Stage 3 will perform special grandparent presentations. All families are warmly invited to attend!
PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS
This term will also provide parents with the opportunity to meet with teachers in the Term 3 Parent/Teacher Interviews on Monday 7 August. These interviews are not mandatory, however teachers may specifically ask to meet with parents in some circumstances. The booking schedule will be sent to parents via Compass.
ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
A very big thank you to Mrs Janelle Nehrkorn for her organisation of the school Athletics Carnival at the end of last term. There is a huge amount of planning and preparation which goes into an event such as this.
A big thanks also to the P & F Association, Tilla Winston-Smith and her band of helpers in the canteen who kept everyone fed and watered on a cold day.
It is also necessary to recognise our groundsman Mr Keith Flood and his wife Ros who prepared and marked the back oval for the carnival. This was a huge undertaking and both Keith and Ros put in countless hours marking and preparing the track for our students.
It was a big change to move the athletics carnival to the school grounds. We have already done some reflecting on how we can further improve our processes for next year, however if you have any feedback I would be glad to hear it!
Have a great week!
Nick
