High Ability Program Maths and English
This term, we have another group of students participate in the High Ability Program for Maths, including many Year 5 students. The VHAP program continued through Remote Learning, and students independently logged into their courses. In addition, the High Ability Program for English ran simultaneously. Congratulations on the following students for showing their initiative and responsibility for their learning.

We are very excited to be collaborating with our local primary schools, particularly allowing our students to meet and work with different groups of peers. For their last session, Camelot Rise will host the Maths masterclass session at the beginning of term 3, inviting students from our local network. Furthermore, Glen Waverley South will host the masterclass for VHAP English and have organised Kirsty Murray as a guest author. We hope to hear from these VHAP English students after their final masterclass.
John Monash Science - Robagals
by Joelene and Kiera
Every second Wednesday this term, a group of girls went to John Monash Science School to participate in the Robagals program. We learned about coding, science and technology. When we were at Monash, we saw much older kids. We felt scared at first but afterwards, it didn’t bother us. We learned many new things, such as making a robot join a sumo wrestling competition and race a relay track.
In our first session, we learned the basics of sensing changes in light to move back once it hit the end of the challenge mat. We came second in the sumo wrestling when we competed against other robots from different schools made by other students. We were so happy, but a bit disappointed that we didn’t come first.
In our second session, we had to race a robot around a track. This time it had to learn how to turn carefully to follow the line. The rules were that the robot wheels had to stay between the lines, or you would be out. We came second again. We missed our last two lessons but overall we had a great time.
Around the school
Students in Foundation are very excited to choose from a great range of new books for their literacy sessions.
Level 3 students found their way around the "Fitopoly" board during PE, completing exercise tasks along the way.
