WEEK 8

Scholastic Book Fair 2021 Book Week Theme- ‘Reading Oasis – A Cool place to Discover Hot Books.’

Once again, our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the library during Week 8,

30th Aug - 3rd Sept.

Large display cases with a huge range of books will be delivered late August. Students will have an opportunity to purchase books, posters and other items.

A letter explaining the book fair and a catalogue will go home with your child late August.

By purchasing from the fair, apart from taking home great stories for your family, the school earns a credit with Scholastic which we use to purchase more books for the library.

Book Week Dress Up Parade - Week 8 Term 3

In Week 8 your child has a chance to dress up as their favourite book character or go as part of a group (eg: Thing 1 and Thing 2).

As the term progresses, more information about BOOK WEEK & the PARADE will be sent home.

SORA - The Digital Library

SORA the school’s digital library. The Armidale Catholic Schools Office provides access to a large number of ebooks and audiobooks that can be accessed through the SORA reading app. This free app can be downloaded onto devices or accessed through their website (click on the link). YOUR CHILD WILL NEED THEIR SCHOOL USERNAME & PASSWORD TO ACCESS THIS APP.  The children use their username and password on their devices at school.

Once you’ve found the App, you will need to search for the ACEN library (Australian Catholic Education Network) and then enter your child’s school username and password when prompted. The books your child can access are filtered by their school login details which means younger students are unable to view secondary texts. For a quick video tutorial of how to use this App, watch the video here

There is a section for PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE BOOKS for each year level. The children can borrow & read books for the PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE during the holidays on SORA.

Happy reading!
