'From now on, it is men you will catch'.

Luke 5:1-11

Peter is the prominent figure in the Gospel this weekend. He is the apostle who grapples with many emotions during the Scripture about Jesus calling His first Disciples. It is an eye opening opportunity for the fishermen who cast their nets after Jesus' request, although they had worked all night and had caught nothing.

The text calls the first disciples to focus upon trust, discipleship, abundance, discouragement, risk, and persistence which proves to be strong as they eventually bring their full boats to land, leaving everything behind to follow Jesus and his ministry. These themes are still relevant today and have particular resonance during these challenging times.

Peter who becomes a great leader with strengthening and challenging qualities, is a leader we can identity with during our own life journey. He was tasked to fish for followers and to continue the Mission to nurture the faith of others so that they may grow. We too can follow in his footsteps. It also reminds us of encouragement for discipleship and recognition of Jesus as the source of hope and abundance.

Sacramental Program 2022

At St Therese, we participate in the St Agatha’s Parish Sacramental Program. As such, the program is Parish based, School supported and Family centred.

At present, the 2022 Sacramental Program sent to you late last year is going ahead as scheduled.

Please find it attached below for your reference. Please place the dates into your diary.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is the first Sacrament we prepare and celebrate in Term One.

Families who intend their children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation need to ensure students are in Year 3 or above, have been baptised and understand the difference between right and wrong.

The Reconciliation Information and Parent Workshops occur very early in the term. Please attend ONE of the following workshops (students do not need to attend this workshop):

  • Wednesday 9th February 2022 at 7p.m
  • Wednesday 16th February 2022 at 7p.m

Lots of information and enrollment documents are shared at the workshops. Both workshops will be held in the St Agatha’s Church. Please adhere to COVID protocols and sign in using the QR Code, wear a mask and have your Digital Vaccination Certificate ready to be viewed by the COVID Marshals.
