Grade 2

Year 2 – Term 3

It has been a busy start to the term in Year 2! We are loving being in the new building and it has been wonderful to see the students make Miss Ryan feel so welcome in her first week!

In Talk for Writing this term, we will be studying the mentor text ‘The Papaya that Spoke’. We are learning to recite the story with the matching actions and explore the structure of the text. We also got to try a piece of papaya! Our main focus will be learning about dialogue and how we can incorporate it into our own texts. 

In Discovery this term, our topic is called ‘Where am I within the World?’. We will be learning about geographical tools and all of the different continents of the world. The Year 2’s are very excited as this coincides well with Miss Giles’ overseas travels! So far we have been able to follow her journey through Turkey and Greece and we are all looking forward to seeing where she goes next!
