From the Principal's Desk 

Wow! What a year 2020 has been. I thank our community for their continued support, through what has been a year like no other. Despite the events of 2020, this term has flown by and organisation is well underway for 2021.

 

Staffing update

We thank Miss Purches, Ms Keato, Mrs Azo, Ms Paget, Mr Coates, Miss Laurence, Miss Tania, Miss Tuhina and Miss Lemeki for their contributions to LPS over the years. We wish them all the best and good luck for the future. 

 

Reminders for 2021:

  • There will be two School Development Days (SDDs) in January. Students return Friday 29 January 2021.
  • If you have planned a trip and you will be returning after 29 January or your child will not return to LPS in 2021, please complete the form at the link below:

  • Classes will not be finalised until Week 2. Students will, in most instances, be with their previous class and teacher. Year 5 students who are going into Year 6, will be grouped with other Year 6 students. When classes and teachers are finalised we will let you know.

Updated COVID-19 restrictions 2021

Principals received advice about draft COVID restrictions in 2021. Final guidelines however, will be available for the commencement of Term 1 2021. 

 

At this stage, as gatherings of people remained capped on school sites, we will continue with parents dropping children off at the gate and we will open gates from 2.45pm of an afternoon, for parents to come onsite and pick up for 2.50pm. 

 

This will mean that children in Years 1-3 (in 2021) will meet their child at the K-2 COLA and students in Years 4-6 (in 2021) will meet their parents at the 3-6 COLA. 

 

It is essential that while you are waiting for your child, that parents socially distance a minimum of 1.5m. 

 

Newsletters in 2021

As a result of less people reading our newsletter this year, in 2021, the newsletter publication will change from fortnightly to every five weeks. Newsletters will go out Week 2 and 7 every term from 2021. 

 

I wish our families and staff all the best for a safe and relaxing Christmas and New Year break. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for 2021 on Friday 29 January.
