New Connections with Industry

This term we have continued to connect with Industry and develop pathways and employment opportunities for our Marist boys.

Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) have very kindly taken on the role of allowing students who are completing SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality to complete service periods in a variety of roles at the racecourse. This allows students to experience the real world of work in the hospitality sector. There are also opportunities for students to apply for casual work in this sector with the BRC post work experience.

Feedback from all accounts have been extremely positive from both the staff who were mentoring the boys and the boys themselves.

A lot of these positions are only offered to students who have completed work experience tasters in these fields during year 12. These are being advertised now and need to be actioned on this term to be eligible for consideration in 2024.
