Message from Rhonda Fletcher

We have had a busy last two weeks at our school. Students have been busy in their classrooms with their learning and it is now good to see a number of our older classes going out of the school for community access, bike rides, shopping and work education programs. Last year these activities were stopped because of COVID so it is pleasing to see that our students are now able to practice their skills in the community again.
This week our transition students have been on camp to Garfield. They have been kept busy with lots of activities including a day trip to Phillip Island. I went to the camp on Wednesday to join in with their BBQ lunch. It was great to see the students enjoying the camp.
Morning student drop offs
Our school opens at 8.40am for students to go to class. If you arrive earlier please wait with your child outside the front doors until this time.
Student Illness
As we come into winter many of our students may become unwell. This is another reminder to please keep children home if they are sick. The school will always call you to come and pick up your child if they are sick to try and prevent the spread of illness across the school.
COVID restrictions at school
Most of the COVID restrictions for schools have now been lifted but we are still required to limit the number of visitors in our foyer area. Please keep your time in this area to a minimum and wait to enter this area if they are too many people.
Building Works
We are having some renovations done in the kitchen and bathroom areas of Rooms 1-4 later in the year. We are starting the planning for this now and will let you know soon when these works will be starting.
Thanks,
Rhonda
