Dear Families,
Here we are at the end of another term and wow have we had a busy one!
Congratulations to Katie Day on a very successful Sports Day. There was a lot of hard work put into running such a fun-filled day and we all want to express our thanks for what she achieved. Congratulations to Hartzer on Winning Sports Day and the St Brigid's Cup and a big congratulations to MacKillop for winning the Spirit Award this year with amazing team spirit. I would like to say a very big thank you to the Year 6 Leaders who demonstrated amazing team spirit, encouragement and support throughout the day.
Whilst we are in the congratulatory mode, Damian Emery has successfully obtained the Permanent position of Finance Officer for our school, please join me in congratulating him officially to our school.
We also would like to introduce Bonnie, our new Community Hub Leader. Bonnie has been supporting Community Hubs in the north and has worked in schools for a number of years.
We will also welcome Chelsea to the school in Term 4, Chelsea is coming in to support some of our students and help run some wellbeing programs to support all students in the school.
During the first 2 and a half weeks of next term, I will be taking long service leave to spend some time with my family and travelling interstate. Ms Rozanna Elmassih will be stepping into my role as Acting Principal in my absence.
This week we have spent some time looking very closely at our NAPLAN data. We are very proud of our achievements this year. 60% of our students were in the top two bands in 1 or more areas (Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar or Numeracy) We are really proud of their achievements and congratulate them and all the teachers who have supported them in their learning journey to achieve such results.
On Thursday evening we were very proud of our student's achievements at the Catholic Schools Music Festival. They sang beautifully and represented the school in such a positive way. Our students continue to make us all smile and we are privileged to celebrate their wonderful achievements alongside them. St Brigid's School is such a wonderful community and our students have many wonderful opportunities.
Have a wonderful holiday and whilst I won't see you until November the rest of the staff look forward to seeing you on Tuesday the 18th of October.
Yours in Love, Peace and Learning
