Introduction

This book is designed to provide information about the courses offered at The Friends’ School for students in Years 9 and 10, so that students, in consultation with parents and teachers, can plan a program of study for these two years. It covers eight learning areas, designated as faculties, with individual descriptions of subjects detailing the requirements for completing these courses.

  1. Our Learning Principles and Curriculum Structure on the following two pages provide an important overview of our approach and the structure of our learning programs across Years 9 and 10, including considerations for pathways beyond Year 10.
  2. Then use the ⭐️ Subject Planner & Index as a hub to guide you through the subject selection process. This page explains the decisions to be made and helps you plan a program of study across Years 9 and 10. It also acts as an index with direct links to each learning area (faculty) and all subjects.
  3. Follow the links in the Planner or use the menu to navigate to individual Subject Pages, which describe the learning focus and key details to help with your decisions.
