DAV Inter-School Debating Competition
On Monday the 6th of June, Craigieburn Secondary College participated in the 4th Round of the DAV inter-school debating competition. The topic was " That the ABC should only show Australian-made content". Both Craigieburn teams argued to affirm this statement. The results are summarised below:
- Craigieburn Secondary College 1 won against St Pauls Anglican Grammar School (Warragul) 2. Honourable mentions go out to Bibi Fatima, Hassan Al Janabi and Majd Mosees.
- Craigieburn Secondary College 2 won against St Pauls Anglican Grammar School (Traralgon) 1. Stiva Shabah secured best speaker for this debate. Honourable mentions go out to her teammates Senay Sozmen and Mirna Mosees.
An especial thank you goes out to Natalie Taylor whose commitment to the cause has really helped to foster the debating talents here at Craigieburn Secondary College.
The next debate will take place on Monday the 18th of July and the topic will be "That we regret the rise of social media in fighting crime".
