Basketball Results

Year 4/5 GS Raptors

The GS Raptors finished the minor season with a close, but exciting 15-13 win over the GS Warriors.  The players combined to put in an all round team effort to secure the win.  Oscar top scored with 6 points, Jayden had a strong influence on the game, Blake and Ronan chipped in with handy baskets and Lorenzo and Downey defended well all game.  The Raptors face the Warriors again next week in the Semi-Final with both teams looking to advance to the Grand Final.

Scorers: Oscar (6 pts), Jayden (5 pts), Ronan and Blake (2 pts each).

Year 2/3 GS Thunder

GS Thunder had a convincing win against the Aggies in Week 7. The team played very well together and demonstrated strong defensive skills which made it difficult for the other team to score points. Tyler was a stand- out in defence with his steals and intercepts. A special thank you to Oscar Stevens for filling in as coach this week.

Scorers: Hunter (6 pts), Jonte (6 pts) and Anhad (2 pts).

Last week’s game against the Eagles was a nail biter, with Thunder only being defeated by 2 points in the end (8-10). Again, Thunder played excellent defence and really gave it their all.

Scorers: Jonte (4 pts), Hunter (2 pts) and Anhad (2 pts).

Year 2/3 GS Rockets

The GS Rockets had a narrow loss to the Prescott Lions this week, going down 12-14.  The Rockets started slowly and were down 0-6, but fought back to level the scores at half time.  Both teams went basket for basket during the second half.  With less than a minute to go, the Lions took the lead.  The Rockets never gave up and drove the ball forward and attempted to score in the dying seconds, but unfortunately we ran out of time.  It was a very exciting finish to a close game.

Scorers: Layla & Jake (4 pts each), Eden and Nate (2 pts each).
