Environment and Sustainability news at MPW!

On Monday 2 September, Jack’s Paddock was fenced off with tape and a portaloo was set up as well. We had many excited children when they saw the toilet! We know that the site will have builders in soon and we look forward to the structure that will be set up once the 5 weeks are complete.  Following this, a plan will be created as to what needs to be done next and how we will go about it.  As always, if interested, please give your name and email to the office and ask them to pass on to myself (Alyena), and I will be in touch.

In other news, we plan to move the fruit trees to a safer space as soon as possible. The trees will need to go back into the ground but at this point in time we haven’t decided on a permanent location. If you are knowledgeable about fruit trees and their placement, please let us know as we need the trees away from any pipes (roots issues) but also need to consider a safe planting space for them.

Warmer weather brings out the gardener in some people, and I know there are many students who want to get into weeding, planting and out in the sun (with a hat on) as  the 1/2 Inquiry unit on ‘Growing Healthy’ will lead itself to seed growing as well.
