Book Fair
3rd - 6th September 2019
Dear Parents and Families:
Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:
- Set the example. Let children see you read.
- Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up with changing tastes and reading skills.
- Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.
The theme of our Scholastic Book Fair is Dino-Mite, where we hope you will Stomp, Chomp, and Read! A fun reading event brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It is a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.
Book Fair dates: Tuesday 3 to Friday 6 September, 2019
Shopping hours: Library open until 4.30pm every day
Special activities: Open night will be Thursday 5 September from 6.00pm to 7.30pm

The Variety of Outstandingly Diverse Plants at Moonee Ponds West
We are students in Room 8, and we have put together a map for our inquiry about plants and their adaptations in our school at Moonee Ponds West.
If you want to find out information about the plants at our school you can use this map to find out about their names and adaptations.
We tried to get all the plants in the school, the majority of them are on our map. We believe that all the trees on this map are accurate, but some may have been misidentified as identifying flora is very difficult!
