Book Week is only a month away! 

Get your Book Week Costume ready!

What world will you discover today?....This year's CBCA Book Week Theme  ~ "Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds!"

Book Week will be celebrated from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th of August! Check out the display in the library!

During Book Week we will be having a Book Fair!

The Lamont Book Fair will be happening from

Monday 23 August to Thursday 26th August

Book Fair Sales will be open from

8am - 8.30am, 12.55pm-1.35pm, 3.15-4.30pm

 

Please note

Book Fair will not be open on the Friday 27th August

Kingston Libraries Short Story Competition on now!

Write a short story or poem of up to 500 words about anything you like!

Works must be original and G-rated.  Entries are invited in age categories 5 to 7, 8 to 10, 11 to 13 and 14 to 16.  Entries close Sunday 19 September.  Winners will be announced Sunday 24 October and published on the Kingston Libraries website.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Entry is free
  2. Submissions must be G-Rated
  3. One entry per person
  4. Entry is open to anyone who is aged 5-16 years and lives, goes to school or plays in the City of Kingston
  5. Word limit: 500 words
  6. Story or poem must be an original work
  7. Entries close Sunday 19 September 2021
  8. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
  9. Winning entries from each age group will be published on Kingston Libraries' website and added to the Short Story dispenser
  10. Selected will be collated into a book and published in a book
  11. Entries will not be returned
  12. Prizes are Westfield vouchers for each age group - 1st prize - $150, 2nd prize - $100, 3rd prize - $50.
