Incursion

Our Minibeast incursion written by 1b:

We lined up in the Year 2 area and we felt so excited. We went into the cola and sat down.  We had to be quiet because some of the bugs do not like noise. First, Summer (the Minibeast teacher) showed us the snails. They weren’t just regular snails, they were huge and they live in the rainforest. Some of us liked the way the snails felt. After we had looked at the snails, Summer showed us the millipedes. We all got to hold them but only if we wanted to. Some of us just patted the millipede, because it looked like it had fangs. We also saw the millipedes cousins. They looked different to their cousin. On their back they had two things called stingers and they try to kill their cousin with it’s poison! The millipedes cousin looks like it has two heads. This is their way of protecting themselves because other animals get confused and leave it alone. Next, Summer showed us a rainforest cockroach. It was very big compared to the normal cockroach. It’s legs felt very scratchy.  After that we saw a tarantula! But don’t worry it was in a jar. She was trying to hide her fangs because she was hungry and she didn’t want her prey to see them, so they were hiding near her knees.
