Hi parents, guardians, staff, friends and welcome to Week 4.
How can it be Week 4 already? This week our theme was Sports Week as children have been asking for a whole week of sport-related activities and games. Each morning this week we have played some sort of group game. From basketball to soccer and block soccer we are keeping with the theme and playing as many sports as we can. In the TheirCare room, art and craft is even more popular with the continued interest in beading and creating necklaces and bracelets for children’s friends and families and even for themselves. On Tuesday we created soccer ball mosaics with lots of different colours and patterns which turned out awesome and were so creative. This week we also used cotton balls and created snowman mascots and we also used pipe cleaners to add their face, hat, and arms. On Thursday morning we created tennis and soccer balls out of paper plates and gave them legs, arms, and faces, they looked cool.
This week we were lucky enough to be able to run the uniform shop on Tuesday afternoon. It was good fun, and we even got some children to help with setting up, serving customers, and overall being a great help. We look forward to the next time we can run the uniform shop and are thankful we are given the opportunity to help.
As some children and families know, unfortunately Louise has decided to move back to her hometown of Frankston and will have her last shift at West Footscray on 1st of September. Louise has been a part of the West Footscray team for 5 years, starting as a casual educator and working her way up to being the co-ordinator for the last 2 and half years. Louise has spoken about how she believes it has been an honour being a part of the awesome community of West Footscray Primary School and is thankful for all the support and will always be grateful for all the people she has met along the way and will miss being here at West Footscray. We will all miss Louise dearly ☹.
This week’s Pupil of the Week for TheirCare is Audrey Manning. Audrey has received the Pupil of The Week for always being an outstanding helper every time she attends TheirCare and for also being a very good helper when TheirCare ran the uniform shop.
Well Done, Audrey you should be proud!! 😊 😊
