Saturday Netball

The Cavendish Cats played two wonderful games of netball on Saturday at HILAC. If you would like to come and support the students this week, here are our games times:

  • The Under 11's take on Tarrington Yellow on Court 4 at 9:30am
  • The Under 13's take on Baimbridge Bandicoots on Court 1 at 10:30am

ROUND ONE RESULTS:

The Under 13's defeated College 28 - 2.

The Under 13's team consists of Lexi Thomas, Talia Price, Fletcher Price, Mae Northam, Isabel Hurley, and Chelsea and Georgia Abrahamson. Spirits were high on the court and it was lovely to see the Cavendish players supporting each other. It was Mae's first ever game of netball and she should be so proud of how much she improved as the game went on. The team played incredibly well together and all students should be proud of their efforts and determination!

The Under 11's team consists of Lexi Thomas, Emma Thomas, Thomas Hurley, Ava Huf, Noah Weilbaecher, Mietta Price and Eva Outtram. Many members of the team had never played netball before so there was lots of learning going on during the game. We had two wonderful umpires who took the time to explain to players what they did wrong and how they can fix this next time. It was lovely to see all members of the team speaking positively to each other on the court and cheering each other on.

A huge congratulations goes to Lexi Thomas for backing up her Under 13's game by playing in the Under 11's game. Lexi was adaptable and moved throughout many positions and gave it her all in both games. Well done, Lexi!

We had our #1 cheerleader Holly Lewis watching both games from the bench as unfortunately you aren't allowed to play with crutches. Holly was devastated that she was unable to play but thanks Holly for still coming down and supporting both teams.

Thanks to all the students and parents who came to watch and support the players. It was an awesome morning and we are all very excited to have another go on the courts next week! 😊👍
