Online learning is back and so are the challenges.

We all know if our students can learn from home they must learn from home. While learning has changed again, child safety remains  the priority of the whole school community. We would like to work with parents to keep all our students safe from abuse.

Here are some of the ways we are creating safe learning experiences.

1. We have a minimum of 2 educators in each class.

2. Sessions may be recorded.

3. We will not be delivering one on one tuition to students.

4. Staff complete mandatory reporting training offered by DET.

Welcome everyone

We are doing more to create safe online classrooms.

You will notice your teacher will check your online learning space before the lesson begins. They will say something like...

Before we start

  1. Who is present?
  2. Who is in your learning space?
  3. Can they please identify themselves? Teachers will document who was online with your student.
  4. Check your surroundings. Ensure there is nothing inappropriate within camera view. Teachers will contact you if we notice something you may have missed
  5. Make sure you and people around you are clothed properly.
  6. Do not record or take photos of the meet.

You can help us maintain a safe online learning space;

1. Keep your child in line of sight when they are online.

2. Listen to your child when they have concerns about online safety.

3. Report your concerns to the school as soon as you have any concerns.

email.

4. Be mindful of the surrounds your students camera videoing.

5. Have no inappropriate materials or behaviour within  the camera field.

6. Please identify all other people in the learning space for your child.

7. Do not take photos or record the class sessions.
