Abbey Giles (2B)

Dear Year, 2 Parents and carers,

It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you that Abbey Giles will be leaving Bundoora Primary school at the end of Term 2. She has the opportunity to move and work overseas for a period of time. This was an opportunity she could not resist.

While it is a time of change for her class, Abbey will ensure a smooth transition for the replacement teacher. Recruitment for the position will begin shortly.  Abbey will work closely with leadership, Education support staff and Lauren to ensure that all necessary information is passed on, to make each child's education continues uninterrupted.

We will greatly miss Abbey as she has been an asset to our staff and students, and we thank her for her contributions to the learning journey of the students she has taught during her time at BPS.

Please feel free to reach out to Abbey if you have any questions or concerns. She is looking forward to making the most of the remaining weeks she has with her students and she is very happy to discuss any concerns you may have.

We wish Abbey all the very best in her new adventure and hope to see her again in the future.

Kind regards,

Julie Dunn

Acting Principal

On Wednesday 17th of May, the Year 2 students participated in the ‘Water Watchers’ incursion provided by Yarra Valley Water. Students were introduced to the Water Watchers squad who were forced to flee their home planet after it was drained of all its water. After light years of travel, they landed on Earth with a mission to watch over the planet’s precious water supply and remind Earthlings to turn off their taps.

The Water Watchers squad helped to teach students about where water comes from, how people consume it, and why we all have a role to play in saving it.  They were even lucky enough to bring home a fridge magnet and a water watcher named Welly.

Here is the link to the water watcher’s website https://www.yvw.com.au/water-watchers . If you would like to explore this with your children there are resources, quizzes and a short song.

We hope our Year 2’s can share their new knowledge with you so we can all play our part in conserving water and being part of the Water Watchers squad!
