What happening in Years 5-6

5/6 GRIP Conference

On Monday 15th May, Year 5 and 6 caught the bus to Armidale for the GRIP Leadership Conference. GRIP stands for ’Generosity, Responsibility, Integrity, People.’

The day concentrated on training us as leaders and what qualities a good leader has.

Session One was - How to be an ‘Others First’ Leader.

Session Two was - The People a Leader can Impact the Most.

Session Three was - How to get everyone onboard with a new idea.

As a group we worked on how to be an ‘Others first’ leader which included:

● Hear others’ opinions;

● Help with little things;

● Happiness;’

● Humility.

We also worked on ‘How to get everyone on board with a new idea.’ This included:

● Write it out in detail

● Take it forward slowly

● Show that you will carry the load

● Make the ‘why’ clear.

The Kids Thoughts:

“It was pretty fun. There was a loud noises segment in every session of the day. There were also games which were great.” MARY

All and all it was a great experience and we all enjoyed it. We all hope we can go back next year.
