DIOCESAN CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS AT BARRABA
We wish our 24 students who will represent St Patrick's at the Diocesan Winter Trials tomorrow at Barraba. Mrs Healey is the team manager for the day and all of us are looking forward to hearing how everyone went on Monday.
School Athletics Carnival
This upcoming Tuesday, we will be having our athletics carnival at Walcha Central. An information note went home via the COMPASS Portal last week. Many thanks to the parents/guardians who have already given permission for their child/ren to participate in this event. To ensure that our carnival is a big success, we definitely need a lot more helpers. Also, the P and F are requesting for any helpers to assist with the running of the barbecue as well as the stall they are running for the day.
If you can assist in any way, even if it is only for an hour, please let the school know.
We will be conducting our high jump for the carnival on Monday, 22nd May. The students will be required to wear their sports uniform on this day as well as on Tuesday. Below are the times we plan to conduct these events. It is definitely going to be a busy day as the students will also be having their house meetings on Monday afternoon to finalise their preparations for Tuesday.
11yr and Senior Boys and Girls (11 and 12 years old this year): commencing at 10.00 am.
Junior Boys and Girls (8, 9 and 10 years old this year): commencing at 11.30 am.
DIOCESAN RUGBY UNION GALA TRIALS
The Diocesan Rugby Trials for interested students in Years 5 and 6 will be held in Tamworth on Monday 29th May 2023. Notes went out to interested families via Compass earlier this week. If you have any questions and/or queries in regard to the Gala/Trials Day, please contact Mr Hyatt.
NSWPSSA GIRL'S HOCKEY CARNIVAL
In just over a week's time, Annie will be playing her first game at the NSWPSSA Girl's Hockey Carnival in Tamworth. Good luck Annie, we know you are going to do a great job representing your family, our school as well as Polding at this event.
St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook
St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports. Also, there are lists of all of our various school swimming and athletics records. These will be continually updated if any of these records are broken in the near future.
I would like to thank Lisa Patterson-Kane who has spent a lot of time and effort in compiling this handbook. I know it will definitely assist parents in gaining a greater understanding of what sporting opportunities our school and the diocese provide. Included below is a link for everyone to access the handbook. Also, a copy of the sports handbook has been provided to all families via Compass.
