Maths Masterclass

During Term 2, some 5/6 students participated in a Maths Masterclass with Sue for one session a week. We did lots of problem solving activities, and explored some dice games. Our focus each week was to try and find more than one solution to a problem. We also made number lines out of streamers and plotted fractions on them. It was great working with students from other year levels. 

For this task, we had to use the numbers 1-9 to make 3 equations and only use each number once. We found there were lots of different combinations.

In Year 4, we have been learning about chance by completing a ‘toss the coin experiment’ and making predictions on what colour counter is pulled out of a bag based on how many of each colour there are. It was fun!
