Shining stars on stage!
They say at night the human eye can see a candle flickering 50kms away. That’s how far whole school concerts and the performing arts have felt to our students over the last few years. Like a candle ever so distant, visible and burning to be seen. Finally in from the cold, our arts hearts sparked once again.
On June 15th, The Lakes South Morang College Secondary Campus hosted The Song, Dance, Art and Drama Night. Performances featured students from each Performing Arts areas including Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Art. There were countless highlights including fantastic VCE Dance pieces, entire class Music and Dance performances, a Visual Art display, and great VCE student hosts who displayed confidence and leadership.
Attendance exceeded expectations with families and friends of students coming along to show support. A big thank you to The Performing Arts teachers for their consistent work rehearsing each act, the students for their dedicated practice, VCAL students for preparing and serving food, and the Lakes Community for coming along and supporting The Performing Arts.
