Kinder visits in Term 2

What a wonderful term we have had forming relationships with our local kinders.  These visits have been a terrific opportunity for our older Lakes Legends to show their leadership skills in the community.  They have also provided valuable school readiness skills for our local kinder kids.

It all started when our Year 6 cohort wrote some friendly letters to their friends in kinders around our area.  We were delighted to then receive letters and drawings back from our pen pals. Soon after we received an invitation from Gumboots Early Learning which we accepted with joy.  We walked across with our Year 6 Leaders to accept the wonderful replies they created for us.

Soon after this we welcomed our friends from Paradise Kids to join in an investigation session with our Year 6 students, after this the children delighted in experiencing a school library session within our school library.

Our Prep students were then invited to experience circus rotation stations with our friends across the road at Mill Park Lakes Kindergarten, the smiles on their faces tell the story best of all as to what a fantastic experience this was for all the children.

In the final weeks of term our Year 5 students were able to make the trip over to Paradise Kids to enjoy some stories together and talk about their favourite characters in the books. The children also had a chance to get on with the important childhood development business, play based learning. And what better way for this to happen but in a mixed aged peer supported manner.

We are very grateful to have so many wonderful early learning facilities close by and look forward to more amazing adventures together next term.  Stay tuned for more updates and photos.
