Term Two has been full of excitement and buzz. The Year 5 and 6’s continued building their sporting skills and integrating with the Secondary campus in 5/6 Sport. Our Prep students did some great work in the SWPBS program earning Dojos points for the showing our value of Teamwork. The Year 1’s and 2’s developed their creative writing skills, taking great care to publish their work. Australian wildlife and money were a key focus for the Year 3’s and the Year 4’s ventured out to Science Works to learn about who, what and why things work.
We have continued focusing on School Pride, it has been great to see the yard so clean and rubbish in the bins. Flash Trash at the end on recess and lunch has helped with this. We have seen a big improvement in students being in full school uniform, it looks professional and sharp.
Students showing the value of Teamwork and Respect especially out in the yard has been outstanding. Some real kindness has been shown towards our Preps and making them feel welcome. We have been working hard to show all of our values and using SWPBS to encourage all students and staff to enjoy being at school. The SWPBS shop is up and running and students are building up their dojos to make a purchase.
When focused and engaged our students have thrived in their learning, we want thank our teachers for working hard behind the scenes to support our learning journey for Term 2.
The student leadership team has put together a student display facing out into the yard (near the Prep and 1 area). It introduces the leadership team and will be updated with reminders and upcoming events.
As a student leadership team, we are proud and happy to be at this amazing school and feel privileged to be a part of the school’s leadership team.
We hope everyone has a wonderful and well-earned break.

Below are some individual accounts from members of the student leadership team.
“Term 2 has been such a good experience because we have a lot more responsibility such as sport clubs, house meetings and talking at assembly. Our yard is clean and we are trying to make sure everyone is happy out in the yard. In conclusion this has been a great term for everyone and I look forward to the next term.” - Ella B “This year I had a blast doing assembly’s getting out of my comfort spot. I got to help run the SWPBS shop and the lunch. It was fun because you can run something that gives people joy and that gives me joy. The lifestyles are really enjoyable like in music you can learn a lot of different musical instruments, Sport is good because you have people that do AFL and tee ball to come in and help up. In Art it is interesting because you can build different ideas so you can take stuff that interests you and make it your reality. Overall this term has been really enjoyable” - Xavier K“I think my highlights would be my first assembly. It was fun and I did well I would say. I enjoy seeing everyone join in as a team to do something, for example in the sports clubs all the people there work together to make it happen. I like being able to help at the SWPBS shop, seeing people excited when getting something that they earned from dojo points. I love being able to be a big part of the school and being able to have the opportunity to help out other students and encourage younger children to be positive. This has been an amazing experience, and we are in a good school. I want to do the most for the school while I have the opportunity” - Rydah L“My highlights from Term 2 were setting up for assembly and talking, I really liked how we got an experience to host sports clubs. I really liked the earth Ed excursion because we got to do experiments and solve mysteries. I also like how SRC’s get to run baking club and experience other activities like how we are because that is being inclusive. I liked how we got to teach the house chant to multiple grades that are in Rafter. I really enjoyed this term and what we got to experience, I hope next term is as great as this one :)" - Diya M“This term I think the highlights were that students have been keeping our yard more clean because of Flash Trash. I have also noticed that students are trying extra hard to get points which they spend at the dojo shop which is fantastic. I also really like setting up at assembly with the other captains and doing fun activities like school tours and helping out teachers. I also really like the lunchtime clubs because students are trying new things and learning things like in School Pride Club . This term has been a lot of fun!” - Prarthana N“Term 2 was a good term as the house captains got to present at assembly. It was also a good term because the year 6’s got to start a buddy program with the year 2’s. The house captains presenting at assembly was a great experience. We got to see and learn how to set up and how to present at assembly. The buddy program provided a great experience for the year 2’s to have a role model to come to with any problems. I also liked the Earth Ed excursion because it reminded me of how much I liked science. The experiments were super fun. I have also enjoyed running sports club and seeing kids learn how to play sport” - Tanya S“I think one of my highlights were the assemblies because I got to have a say in the assemblies. I also think another highlight is our sports clubs because lots of people came to the clubs and we had lots of fun. I have also liked inter school sports because we can try different sports and it is fun. I have also liked the SWPBS shop because when you spend your dojo points on cool things and you see them with a smile on their faces. I have liked being a part of the student leadership team this year because everyone has been included and it is a lot of fun” - Kris T
