From the Principal

Shannon Correll

On behalf of the Staff at St Brigid’s School, we would like to wish you a wonderful summer break, for those celebrating Christmas we hope this time is filled with joy.

We want to congratulate all our Year 6 students who will graduate next week. Graduation is always a time of looking back and remembering the stages that have progressed the students to this point.  As our Year 6 students prepare to move to their Secondary School, we pray that they may flow the light of Jesus. May they continue to grow in confidence and wisdom and as inspired by our OLSH Charism, Touch the Heart of All they encounter.

It's with sadness that we will farewell Ms Rozanna Elmassih next Tuesday at our End of Year Assembly. We have been blessed to have Rozanna at St Brigid's School for the last two years and she will be missed. We wish her all the very best as she takes on her own campus in Evanston as part of Xavier College. We welcome families to attend this assembly and be part of our farewell celebration.

In 2023, we welcome Mr Jason Puttnins as our new Assistant Principal: Innovation, Inclusion and Wellbeing. Mr Puttnins is currently the Head of Science at Gleeson College and is known Locally and Nationally as a leader of STEM. Mr Puttnins has worked in another OLSH Primary school and has a strong understanding of our Charism. Mr Puttnins is looking forward to bringing his expertise to St Brigid's School.

Our classes for 2023 are still being finalised. We are still receiving enrolments and this is changing the structures we originally prepared. A decision on this will be made Early Next week and students will be advised of their class teachers on Wednesday at our Moving Up Day.

Don't forget Swimming next week. Please check SEESAW for the information for your child's class.

This week we have sent home the final account for school fees and information for 2023 School Fees. Please make an appointment with Shannon or Damian if there is an issue with your fees. All information is available on our school website including a link to the School Fee Policy.

We would like to remind you that school resumes on MONDAY 30th of January

8:50 am.

Please remember that from the beginning of 2023, the old blue and white uniform cannot be worn. This has been communicated regularly in the school newsletter. - please see below...

Uniform Change Over

Families have had several years to change into the "new" school uniform. (Yellow and light blue panelled top with school emblem, school jacket with yellow piping and school emblem and pants/shorts with yellow script).  On the recommendation of the School Board, we are advising the school community that at the beginning of 2023 the old blue and white uniform cannot be worn at school.  Please make time with the Principal to discuss this if you have any concerns about the timing of this.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday and we look forward to seeing you all in 2023.

Yours in Love, Peace and Learning

Shannon Correll
