House Colour Day and Sports Days

House Colour Day

This year for house colours day, students had the opportunity to participate in a range of lunchtime activities to earn points for their house.

Traditionally each student is allocated a house in Year 7 and they only have the opportunity to associate with the house on limited occasions such as the swimming sports and athletics day.

Over the next few years we will be creating opportunities for students to represent their house in a variety of ways which is aimed at building a friendly rivalry among the houses.

These initiatives are in part a response to student feedback especially in relation to the attitudes to school survey where student connectedness and my teachers don’t care results are very low.

The day was a huge success with over 250 students getting involved. The band also produced a stunning performance which was enjoyed by all.

As an added incentive for making this day a success, each winner was awarded a ‘GET OUT OF JAIL CARD’ to the value of 20 minutes which must be used during the year if they receive a demerit detention. If the winners still hold this card at the end of the year they may trade it in for a $15 Café voucher.
