Message from Rhonda Fletcher

It has been so nice to have most of our students back at school since returning from remote learning. These students have settled quickly back into the school routine and are again enjoying all the different learning activities and opportunities that our school provides.
As we move closer to the end of the year our staff are very busy assessing our students and writing reports. Once again these reports may look a little different than usual as we comment on our students’ learning during both remote learning in Term 3 and on their return to school in Term 4. These reports will be sent home in the last week of school.
IMPORTANT DATES
Just a reminder, Friday 17th December is a Curriculum Day. Students are not required to attend on this day. Students’ last day of school is Thursday 16th December.
The first day of school in 2022 for the students will be Monday 31st January
STUDENT DROPOFF AT SCHOOL
Staff will be at the front entrance of the school in the morning until 9.15am. If you come after this time please bring your child into the office, sign them in and wait for a staff member to take them to class.
ROAD SAFETY
Currently the road around our school is very busy with parents and students from the three neighbourhood schools dropping and picking up their children as well as a number of construction activities going on as well. We ask for you to be patient at this time in order to keep all of the students safe. You may drive into the school to drop off your child after 9am (after the school buses have left).
SCHOOL TIMES
We ask that all parents bring their children to school on time wherever possible. This will ensure that your child is able to make the most of their learning opportunities at school and that the learning of other students is not interrupted when students arrive to class late.
SUN SMART
Just a reminder for all students to wear a hat and sunscreen in Term 4 now that the weather is getting warmer. Please write your child’s name in their hat so that it can be returned if it gets lost.
COVID UPDATE
We continue to follow the latest Department of Education and DHHS advice regarding parents and visitors attending onsite for meetings, school events etc. All parents and visitors who attend these types of events must be fully vaccinated and show proof of this when they come to school. Thank you for your assistance with this and for your patience when we ask for your vaccination information.
STUDENT ILLNESS
Just another reminder to all parents to keep your child home if they are unwell. This will help stop the spread of any illness at the school. If your child is unwell at school we will ask for you to come and pick them up. Also, please let the office know if your child is away from school for any reason.
