Welcome back to Term 3, I hope you have had a lovely winter break.
In the Japanese lesson this term, we have started with Naidoc Week, then there will be Tanabata (Star Festival), World Emoji Day, Children's Day (Aboriginal and Torres Islanders), Bomb Day, Father's Day, and Respect for the Aged Day are coming up!
In the first week, we learnt how the elders are very much respected for their knowledge and life experience in Japan. Many Japanese families have still several generations living under one roof. Students have written down things they learnt from their grandparents and things they want to say to them. They are learning how to say and write おじいちゃん "Ojiichan"(Pop)and おばあちゃん"Obaachan"(Nana)in Japanese.
Lacey: I learnt many games from my grandparents such as Chess and 500.
Amelia: I learnt manners and politeness.
Parker H: My grandparents taught me the history of my great-grandparents.
Matilda: Kindness, love and happiness
Zac: I learnt to speak German and how to fix things.
Clara: I learnt to cook cookies and how to fix bikes and old things.
Will: I learnt how to cook muffins.
Cooper: Tennis and body
Joe: Fishing
Oli: How to speak, walk, eat, put shoes on, get dressed, and be good!
Lexi: How to knit and BBQ
Matthew: How to knit then I forgot
Olivia: How to draw
Maggie: To be kind to everyone
Toby: I learnt to cook and knit
Summer: Be kind to everyone! "Everyones are pretty in their own way"
Sophie P: I learnt how to say Pa and nanny, I learn to love lots and all.
Sam: To learn how to knit, cook, drive a tractor, and gardening
Ryan: How to do stuff properly
