From the Editor

Welcome once again to the newsletter of Australasian Palliative Link International (APLI).

It has come to the time of year again where we hold our AGM. We will be holding our meeting via Zoom on the 12th Oct at 7pm AEST. APLI members will have already received the notice and associated papers from our Secretary, Davinia Seah. If you are not yet a financial member, fear not – join us through the meeting ID 994 3503 2313 and passcode 781568 – we’ll be more than happy to sign you up on the spot!

This year, the Executive Committee have decided to undertake a review and refresh of our website. The original site was designed by Milly Rowlett, Monash Art Design student, about 10 years ago. We have employed Jacqui Martin of Ashgrove Web Design and hope the new website will be launched on World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on 10 October 2020.

Membership renewals and donations will be managed through the website, and we hope this will make it easier for members to maintain their subscriptions and interact with us in the ‘leave a comment’ section of the new site.

As always, our newsletter strives to highlight some of the wonderful work being done by friends and colleagues, people that APLI is proud to be associated with. Please do take the time to read Dr Saima Furqan’s article on the work she and her colleagues are doing in Delhi through the Pal Care Foundation. Any and all support you are able to extend to them will be greatly appreciated. The photos for this newsletter come to us courtesy of the Pal Care Foundation.
