Level Crossing Removal Project

Level crossing removal works are progressing in Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach, with piling and utility works well underway. 

Here is a quick snapshot of what you can expect in the coming weeks:

Fraser Ave, Edithvale

• Sections of Fraser Avenue will be closed to vehicles in stages between 20 November 2020 and early February 2021
• Pedestrian access will be maintained
• There will be water filled barriers around works and traffic controllers to ensure safety
• The parking outside of Edithvale Pre-school will be unavailable at times – please park on French Avenue and stagger arrival where possible
• Vehicles can detour via Edithvale Road or Northcliffe Road.

Argyle Ave, Chelsea

• The Argyle Avenue level crossing will be temporarily closed to vehicles from 16 November
• Pedestrian access will be maintained
• There will be water filled barriers around works and traffic controllers to ensure safety
• Vehicles can detour via the Bondi Road level crossing.

Breeze St, Bonbeach

• Breeze Street will be closed to traffic between Station Street and Patterson Street from 12 November to mid December
• Pedestrian access will be maintained
• There will be water filled barriers around works and traffic controllers to ensure safety
• Vehicles can detour via Mernda Avenue.

The Glade, Bonbeach

• The pedestrian crossing over the rail at The Glade will close between mid November and mid December 2020
• Pedestrians can detour via the Bondi Road level crossing.
