NARANGA CLEAN UP DAYS

23rd February and 24th February

Students discussed the impact of waste dropped and ending up in our water ways and oceans. Lower Juniors listened to the story, The Pout-Pout Fish Cleans Up the Ocean. The students realized the fish weren't to blame for the rubbish, humans were responsible. The story was from seen their perspective.

We all live on this earth and are part of this environment. We are all responsible for looking after it.

Junior Malcolm, Terry and Gray students played a scavenger hunt game and identified and sorted rubbish then put a Litterbug together. Upper Junior Richards, Lam and Youl are working on posters with a message to the school community about our clean up days. They were also involved in paper recycling.

Posters will soon be displayed around the school to let you know about the Naranga Clean Up Days. Students will be cleaning each area around the school. The cleanest area with the least rubbish will be the winner. We will collect and count rubbish and compare areas. Prizes will also be given out to Upper Junior students who put in a great effort with their messages and presentation of their posters.

It is great that students and staff are trying to reduce waste. Students are more aware of Nude Food lunches to reduce waste. Some students in Junior Youl are using zip lock reusable bags for their sandwiches.

This week, Junior McFaul emptied their class’s food waste bin into our green cone. Great work across our school in Sustainability!
